Why are some CFOs more successful than others in their career?  The answer: Emotional intelligence, as exhibited through self awareness, self regulation, internal motivation, and empathy.  With 15 years of experience as a CFO, I am the right hand to my CEO and, without these qualities, I would not be able to flourish.   My advice to you: Managing internal emotions, empathy, and social skills are critical to enhance your ability to support your CEO.   Stay aware and follow your passion!

A Steering Committee member for our Orange County chapter, Guita supports the AIDS Services Foundation’s CEO in meeting the organization's vision and strategic goals by providing cost-savings insight and improving efficiency through financial and operational oversight. Prior, she was the CFO at Alzheimer’s Family Services Center, where she was responsible for all financial and fiscal affairs, external and multi-project funds, procurement, contracts, grant administration, operational systems, and procedures. Guita has also worked on numerous charitable boards including the5th District Representative Tax Payer Oversight on Measure M and the California Association of Nonprofits - CFO Task Force.In addition, she has been nominated for three consecutive years for CFO of the Year awards by the Orange County Business Journal and the California Society of CPAs.
